Develop a design identity system for a monthly community event held on the last Thursday of every month, bringing together creatives who share a love for typography.

Outcome

Type Thursday features presenters who share their typography work and offers an open space for critique and conversation. Incorporating this identity, I created a freeform organic design system.

Design System

For the July and August sessions, I ideated and designed a seasonal identity system centered on an organic wave. The fluidity represents the expressive nature of type, while staying consistent with Type Thursday’s existing typography and gradient branding. I selected a vibrant, warm color gradient to reflect both the energy of summer and the warmth of creative community.

Speaker Spotlight

Using the design system I established, I initiated a new social campaign: Speaker Spotlight Series. This series highlighted each month's speaker, allowing our audience to catch a preview of the featured presentations. In addition to serving as a promotional tool, the campaign was designed to recognize our speakers and integrate them into our community.

After making my moodboard, I had a better understanding of the style I wanted. I began my design process with different layouts of type.

Further Work

Landing on the design we preferred, I made step-by-step changes to the design, ultimately landing on the last one that includes a summer wave and proper hierarchy. Thereafter, the design was formatted for different platforms.
